About the program
In collaboration with the Trumbull County Educational Service Center, students in TCTC's Aviation & Drone Technology program, will learn the essentials of piloting an aircraft and the principles of aircraft operations, air traffic control, meteorology, and navigation. They will distinguish among airport environments and understand rules, regulations and orders aligned to the Federal Aviation Administration. Students will also learn the essentials of operating an unmanned aircraft in various areas and have the opportunity to earn their FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot License.

Meet the instructor
Rob Cellars is the Aviation & Drone Technology program instructor. Mr. Cellars has been at TCTC since 2024
I've been at TCTC for three years—two as a student in the Early Innovators Academy and now as a junior in the Aviation & Drone Technology program. I’m currently learning about aviation regulations, particularly on the pilot side. We’ve covered topics like meteorology, flight patterns on the RedBird flight simulators, and sUAS technologies. I love the program and hope it helps me pursue a career as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
