Warren, OH — On Friday, November 15, 2024, Trumbull Career & Technical Center (TCTC) hosted an exciting Signing Day event to celebrate two remarkable student-athletes, Gabrielle "Gabby" Gradishar and Addison "Addie" Warzala, both of whom have committed to play college softball at prestigious universities.
Gabby Gradishar, a pitcher from Champion High School, has committed to continue her athletic career at Penn State University, while Addie Warzala, a catcher also from Champion High School, will join Slippery Rock University's softball program.
Gabrielle Gradishar has proven herself as one of the top softball players in the region, earning numerous accolades throughout her high school career. A key player for Champion High School, Thunder Elite, and the Outlaws, Gabby helped lead her high school team to back-to-back district championships in 2023 and 2024. Last season, she set a Champion High School record with 23 home runs, and her impressive stats include a .640 batting average, 51 RBIs, 10 doubles, and 3 triples. In the circle, Gabby posted an outstanding 20-4 record with a 1.05 ERA and struck out 278 batters in 133.2 innings. Among her many honors, Gabby was named YSN Offensive Player of the Year, MaxPreps Ohio High School Athlete of the Week, and earned 2nd Team All American and MVAC MVP recognition. Gabby also excels in the classroom as a scholar-athlete and is enrolled in TCTC's Exercise Science & Sports Medicine program, where she serves as a Student Ambassador and earned her PTTC Certification.
Addison Warzala has also had an outstanding career at Champion High School, where she helped her high school team secure district championships in 2023 and 2024 and reach the regional finals both years. Addie, a versatile athlete, posted impressive stats last season, hitting .500 with 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 17 doubles, and 3 triples. Her all-around performance earned her 2nd Team All State and 1st Team All District honors in softball in 2024. Addie has been a standout player not only in softball but also in basketball, playing varsity for all four years of high school. Like Gabby, Addie is a dedicated student in the Exercise Science & Sports Medicine program at TCTC, where she serves as a Student Ambassador and also holds her PTTC certification.
TCTC Superintendent, Jason Gray and softball coaches from both Champion High School and Thunder Elite were in attendance to celebrate the accomplishments of these two exceptional athletes, who have not only excelled on the field but also demonstrated a commitment to academic success and leadership in their communities.
“We are incredibly proud of Gabby and Addie for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding achievements both in the classroom and on the field,” said Jason Gray. “This marks an exciting moment in their athletic careers, and we look forward to watching them continue to excel at the collegiate level.”
The Signing Day event highlighted the achievements of both athletes, as well as the strong partnership between TCTC and Trumbull County high schools like Champion. Gabby and Addie are exemplary role models, demonstrating the power of perseverance, teamwork, and dedication.
